NWSES Sponsorship Opportunities
The Intel Northwest Science Expo (NWSE) invites you to become a sponsor of our annual science research competition. The mission of the Intel Northwest Science Expo is to develop scientific talent and promote science literacy in Oregon and Clark County Washington students. The Intel NWSE is an Intel International Science and Engineering Fair-affiliated science fair held for 5th through 12th grade students since 1984. 809 middle and high school students competed in the 2015 Intel NWSE. Participants come from all parts of Oregon and SW Washington. The award ceremony is usually attended by over 900 students, teachers and parents.
The Intel NWSE is a project of the Center for Science Education at Portland State University. Portland State University hosts the annual competition. PSU will provide scholarships for some of the winners. Additional awards are presented in each category and by many government agencies, businesses and community groups. The best of fair projects win an expense-paid trip to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in May. Should you choose to become a sponsor, we can display your logo on our website and link to a site you designate, if you desire.
We are also seeking sponsors for the Northwest Science Expo System (NWSES). The system is comprised of Oregon's seven regional science expos and headed by the Intel Northwest Science Expo. NWSES supports the travel expenses and related costs for Team Oregon. Team Oregon is the group of high school students who qualify for the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) each year. Since 2004 Team Oregon students have earned over $1,500,000 in prizes and scholarships. Oregon students have won both Best Team and Best Individual. Companies that sponsor NWSES will be included in each expos sponsor recognition.
