All events take place on the Portland State University Campus. For safety and security reasons, students are required to wear name tags at all Intel NWSE events.
7:00 - 8:40am: High School students check in at registration table on 3rd floor of Smith Center. Each student will receive a name tag and map. Exhibit setup and Safety Check take place in Smith Center rooms 333 and 355. Students set up their displays and must remain there until passed by the safety check team in yellow construction hats. Students with APPROVED paperwork will receive a sticker showing they have passed safety check. If paperwork is not APPROVED, the student has to provide corrected copies of forms for the SRC table to get a sticker. Students leave the exhibit area when they have completed the Safety Check. High School students, not adults, are required to be present for Safety Check.
8:45 - 10:30am: Judges view exhibits without students present. Sign up for Tours and Activities at Registration).
9:00 - 10:30am: PSU tours and activities. Tours will leave from the 3rd floor. You must be signed up to attend tours and activities.
10:30 - 10:45am: Students return to projects. Students must be in place by 10:45 for judging to begin.
10:45 - 1:15pm: Students interviewed by judges at their exhibits. Students must be at exhibit during the whole time for judging. No sound-producing electronics, including cell phones, are allowed during judging. No Parents or Adult Sponsors are allowed in the exhibit hall during judging. We recommend that students bring a book to read between judge interviews.
1:15 - 2:15pm: Lunch break for students. See the online map of nearby restaurants for options.
2:15 - 3:10pm: Exhibits open to the public, press and middle school students in Smith Center. Students are required to be at their projects. They will be assigned to be by their own exhibits for half of this time. The rest of the time can be used to view other projects.
3:00pm: Announcement of HS "Best of Fair" candidates. Many award decisions are made before finalist judging; more than 200 awards will be given at the award ceremony.
3:15 - 4:45pm: Best of Fair candidates interviewed
5:00pm: Dinner break starts. See the online map of nearby restaurants for options.
5:00 - 7:30pm: Exhibits open to public without students present. Students are welcome to return to their exhibits and talk to the public before the award ceremony.
6:30 - 8:00pm: Award Ceremony at Hoffman Hall. Students must be present to receive awards.
8:00 - 8:30pm: Team Oregon information
8:00 - 9:00pm: Students remove projects. All projects need to be removed or they will be discarded.
