Fair System Updates for September
Online registration is open for all the Northwest Science Expo System fairs.
The Intel Northwest Science Expo will be April 3rd. The following fee schedule applies to middle school projects competing only at Intel NWSE.
2009 Middle School Fee Schedule:
- Projects confirmed online and postmarked by February 11th are $5.
- Projects confirmed and postmarked between February 12th and February 18th are $10.
- Projects confirmed and postmarked between February 19th and February 25th is $15.
- After the 25th the registration fee is $20 per project.
- The final deadline is March 4th. No projects will be accepted after that date.
Regional fairs have varying fees and deadlines. All high school students must qualify for Intel NWSE through a regional fair.
We have several changes in our Regional fairs.
The Central Western Oregon Science Expo (CWOSE) is moving to the Linn Benton Community College campus in Albany. As it is no longer combined with the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, schools from outside the region need to attend the appropriate regional fair.
The Tech Challenge Science Expo in Klamath Falls will no longer exist. Schools from that area should attend the Southwestern Oregon Regional Science Expo (SORSE) in Coos Bay instead.
The Portland Public Schools will have their own regional science expo for high school students. The Portland Public Schools Science Expo (PPSSE) will be March 5th.
